in rennes, just got in after flying from luton, which is near london.
went to the q awards this morning (well, it felt like morning, they actually started at 1pm, which is, practically speaking, my morning).
and i have to say that the q awards were really nice (apart from the fact that they started so unconscionably early…).
it was interesting to be at an awards show where i actually admired (and listened to) most of the musicians who were there or who were being honored. who was there…radiohead, depeche mode,echo & the bunnymen, coldplay, fischer-spooner, dj shadow, tori amos, gary numan, and many others. an impressive bunch of musicians.
and thanks to the q judges for giving me the best producer of the year award. but, as i said when i accepted the award, if i had been on the panel i would’ve voted for tony visconti.

and while i was at the award show (which took place at the saatchi gallery in, i believe, st. johns wood) i got to see the ‘oil room’. well, ibelieve it’s called the ‘oil room’. a room filled with crude oil. it’s an amazing installation, and i’m really happy to have seen it.
now it’s time to go and watch royksopp.
