News / Moby’s SonicVision

Moby was asked some months ago to contribute his talents to a new entertainment program being initiated at New York City’s Hayden Planetarium. Building on the popular, but outdated “”Laser Light”” shows that incorporated contemporary music, the people at the Hayden sought to take their supercomputer to the limit, to create a three dimensional visual show built around popular music and optimized for projection on the planetarium’s dome.

Moby’s contribution is seminal. He was asked to create a dynamic musical narrative made up of contemporary rock and electronic songs that took advantage of the advanced atmospheric sound system of the dome .

The 35 minute program utilizes music from Radiohead, Coldplay, Queens Of The Stone Age, David Bowie, The Flaming Lips, Goldfrapp, The Prodigy and of course, Moby.

“”SonicVision”” will play at The Hayden Planetarium’s Rose Center which is a part of The American Museum Of Natural History, starting October 3. The museum is located in Manhattan, at Central Park West and 81st street. Advance tickets are available at www.amnh.org.
