ok, not trying to be contentious or presumptous, but why is the anglican/episcopalian church getting so worked up about an openly gay bishop (or is it a priest?)?
as i’ve said before, how do we know what christ thought about homosexuality, seeing as he apparently never mentioned it?
haven’t there been episcopalians and anglicans who’ve committed murder and who’ve been slave-owners and who’ve practiced adultery and usury and etc?
hasn’t the church itself done a few questionable things?
so why the big hubbub about a gay priest or bishop? is there anywhere in the bible wherein it says that a priest or bishop shouldn’t be gay?
i don’t know, honestly.
i’m not even stating an opinion, i’m just asking what to me seems like a pretty basic question.
thanks

Journal / Why?

what kind of sickness compels some people to feel joy at other peoples suffering?
what sort of sickness leads a suicide bomber to believe that killing innocents is going to be pleasing to god?
i know i’m naive, but i want it all to stop. i want all of this unnecessary pain and suffering and strife and cruelty to stop. there is no joy to be had at the suffering of others. it’s that simple. god isn’t happy when we hurt each other.
i know that it’s been said a million times, and i know that i’m simple, but can’t it just stop?
can’t someone be courageous enough to put an end to the seemingly endless cycle of violence and suffering?
