so!
we’ve announced the dates for the ‘innocents’ GIGANTIC WORLD TOUR. which consists of:
october 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the fonda theater here in l.a.
i hope you’re able to get tickets, and hopefully see you there/then.
tickets on sale now: moby.com/fonda
each night will consist of:
75 minutes: performing songs from ‘innocents‘
-short break-
90 minutes (or more) – greatest hits set
if you’re coming to l.a from somewhere far away here are some suggestions on where to stay and what to do:
hotels:
there are lots of hotels nearby (including some very inexpensive hotels on hollywood blvd). these 2 are not the cheapest, but both are nice and an easy walk to the fonda theater:
Best Western Plus Hollywood Hills Hotel
6141 Franklin Avenue
Hollywood, CA 90028
(323) 464-5181
W Hollywood
6250 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA
(323) 798-1300
oh, the REALLY fancy hotels are in west hollywood and beverly hills, if that’s what you’re looking for.
food:
well, i’m a vegan (as you might know…) so my food suggestions are, well, vegan. to that end: vegan food sort of near the venue…
- cafe gratitude on larchmont
- real food daily on la cienega
- sage in echo park
- crossroads on melrose
- sun cafe in studio city
- m cafe on melrose
- flore in silver lake
- trails cafe in griffith park
- the punchbowl in los feliz
- cruzer’s pizza in los feliz
- 101 cafe (not vegan, but nice vegan options) in hollywood
- life food organic on cahuenga
- veggie grill on sunset
and many, many more, both vegan and not.
places to see:
- griffith park and griffith observatory
- the museum of jurassic technology
- any of l.a’s great museums: moca, lacma, and countless others
- angeles national forest (about 40 minutes away)
- venice boardwalk (40 minutes away from hollywood)
- echo park and silver lake (nice for walking around and looking at attractive hipsters)
- the echo park time travel mart
- mulholland drive (the best urban drive on the planet)
- and it’s sometimes interesting to get a tour of a movie studio, paramount and warner bros are both really nearby.
- and, of course, anything else that seems interesting. although it’s worth remembering: l.a is HUGE. so some things (like malibu), might be prohibitively far away, unless you like driving and/or traffic…
relatively nearby places, some amazing places worth visiting that are over an hour away:
- vasquez rocks (1 hour away)
- topanga (1 hour away)
- ojai (2 hours away)
- sequoia national park (4 hours away)
- joshua tree (3 hours away)
- idyllwild/pine cove (2 1/2 hours away)
- big sur (5 hours away)
- ok, i hope that’s a helpful list. and hopefully see you in october!

p.s-oh, and airports…if you’re able to i highly recommend flying in/out of burbank airport, as it’s small and easy and about 20 minutes from the fonda theater. 98% of flights go in and out of lax (los angeles international), but lax is a big mess of an airport and it’s 45 minutes from the fonda theater.
