warning: this will be a weather related update.
if for some reason you find my weather related updates to be tedious you should stop reading. now. cos it’s about to get weathery.
you can say ‘leathery’ but not ‘weathery’? why?
new york city is so unbelievably hot.
i’ve been to hot places. i’ve been to singapore.i’ve been to greece. i’ve been to south america.i’ve been to arizona. and so on.
none of them have ever felt this hot.
cos this is heat that is thick and slow and heavy.i feel so sorry for all of the european tourists in new york right now. they must walk out of their hotels and just stand there, stunned. cos this is a palpable heat that most people from thecivilized world just never experience.
yes, it gets hot in the rest of the world. but most places don’t have this intensity. i’ve been in arizona in the summer when it was 114 degrees, but it was dry. so yes, it was very hot, but not like this sludge-fest.
and the truth be told, i love it. when it’s this hot and sultry the air has weight. it envelopesyou and it pummels you, but it’s one of the things that makes new york so wonderful.
a city of extremes. winters like a bright moscow, summerslike a hazy manila.
i’ve probably written updates that are almost identical to this one. but i love new york city and i love new york city when it’s sweltering.
i love the heat. there, i’ve said it. again. and when the sun is setting and it’s just at the horizon it really does look like some primordial furnace.
i love this/my city.
