i know that on occasion i make my presumptuous culture recommendations, and they’re usually quite high brow, like ‘monsters inc’ or ‘shrek’…
but tonight i saw the new cameron crowe movie, ‘vanilla sky’, and i loved it. i don’t know if anyone else will like it, but i thought that it was absolutely wonderful. it requires a good deal of patience, cos the middle part of the movie seems kind of arbitrary, but one of the wonderful things about the movie is that the bits that are apparently not very good actually end up reinforcing the denoument. and don’t let anyone tell you anything about the narrative. just go see it. it’s terrific.
well, i loved it. not the best movie ever made, but pretty experimental and innovative by hollywood standards.
who knew that within cameron crowe’s heart flows the blood of david lynch?
