usually it’s assumed that people in the military vote republican.
but according to a study by the center for responsive politics 75% of deployed troops(as in: troops currently
serving active duty)have given money to the obama campaign, with only 25% of deployed
troops giving money to mccain and the republicans.
the reasons listed are, basically, that the troops are tired of being deceived by republicans, and they’re
tired of being given sub-standard treatment in the field and when they get back to the states.
the republicans claim to be patriots and claim to respect our troops, but these are the same republicans
who took 2 years to send armored humvees to iraq. the same republicans who repeatedly voted
to cut funds for military hospitals in the states. the same republicans who have stop-lossed(involuntary
extension of term of duty)hundreds of thousands of volunteer soldiers.
so it’s no surprise that the men and women serving in the military are no longer supporting
the republicans as much as they have in the past.
