today the u.s supreme court ruled that all adult americans, be they straight or gay, have the right to engage in consensual sex as a right of privacy.
and although i’m not gay i fully applaud the courts decision to extend these basic rights to all americans.
just one step in making the united states a more civil and sane country.

p.s-it’s also great that it’s pissed off all of the cultural conservatives who routinely mistake and conflate their personal manners for objective morality. i will never understand a christian right who support war and the death penalty but become apoplectic about homosexuality. i don’t know what christ’s opinion about homosexuality might be, cos he’s recorded as having said nothing about it. but i do know what christ’s opinions about violence and hate might be, cos he sure said a lot about those things.
p.p.s-oh, as far as we know, christ wasn’t a big fan of hate and violence. towards anyone. even non-americans…
