so, as you know: two weeks ago i started working with the california partnership to end domestic violence to get california to re-instate funding to domestic violence programs in california. and it worked!
yesterday the state legislature voted in emergency session to reinstate all funding to domestic violence programs! and arnie said he’d sign the bill! we spent 2 weeks working really hard and talking to cnn and ap and fox news and cbs and npr, and apparently the media pressure had it’s desired effect. very, very happy news, as now many shelters can stay open and continue to provide service to the victims of domestic violence.
