today is a day for staying inside.
it snowed.
then rained.
then snowed.
then freezing rain.
now it’s pouring down with freezing rain.
and i’m inside.
lucky me.
but at this moment there are 10’s of millions of people out stuck in this weather getting soaked and frozen.
ok, i’d like to invite every single one of them over to my house for tea or hot chocolate.
only caveat being that the only hot chocolate i have is vegan, although it’s still really good.
the thick clouds and the snow on my skylight have turned my apartment into a dark cave.
my limbic system, which hasn’t changed much over the last 500 million years, wants me to get back into bed and pull the covers over my head and emerge when it’s spring.
the sound of rain, then snow, then ice, then kittens, then bagpipes, then ice, falling on my skylights is somehow comforting.
i was going to go outside. but no, on second thought that seems like arguably the worst idea i’ve ever had.
