i was reading some history and some periodicals and some, well, stuff, and a thought dawned on me…
what if…what if. …george bush attacks iraq and it all ends up working out for him? what if the iraqi military capitulates and folds after a weekor so, and what if saddam is ousted somehow, and what if in a years time iraq is an aspiring democracy with oil flowing through its veins?
then gw bush would just be the golden boy. and then i would have to reign in my criticism of the bushies (for, well, about 30 seconds).
which would hurt. cos i’m a knee jerk lefty, as we all know. what if in 12 months time we have astockmarket at 11,000 and a democratic iraq and a north korea who are engaged in diplomatic dialog and so on and what not.
it’s possible, no?
and i would be the first person to say that the realization of benign goals is better than the pursuit of a rigid ideology.
if this ends up happening it’s worth remembering that if an asshole fixes your car you’re not going to focus on the fact that an asshole fixed your car, you’re going to focus on your nice and happy car that runs like a charm.
ah well. who knows how things will work themselves out. i don’t.
but i’m sleepy cos it’s 5 am.
