went to see the shins tonight.
they were good. very nice and sweet.
i especially liked the songs that were only acoustic guitar and vocals.
some ambitious optician should sponsor an indie-rock band.
i’ve never felt more at home, what with the abundance of glasses wearing, visually challenged people.
in other news…i can’t believe that the republicans are having their convention in manhattan.
a recent poll showed that gw bush’s approval rating was at fifteen(15%)percent in nyc, as opposed to 47% nationwide.
why are they coming here?
i almost feel badly for the republicans coming here to new york city, they’d probably have a warmer reception in france…
the only bush supporters you meet in manhattan are people who are just being cranky for the sake of being cranky, and when you really push them you realize that they’re democrats who are trying to be punk-rock and subversive and just trying to annoy their friends by pretending to be republicans.
i still can’t believe what’s going on with/in this country.
america has lost it’s mind, there’s really no other explanation.
whether it’s flouride in the water-supply or hormones in the beef or some weird strain of bovine spongiform encephalitis, i don’t know, but i do know that at least 50% of america seems to have completely gone off the tracks and lost its/their mind(possibly collectively, en masse, that would explain a few things).
ok, enough about politics.
the shins were good.
