you know what’s great about new york?
that you get to listen to people’s parties.
right now there’s a party going on in the building behind mine, and they’re playing a bunch of r&b & hip-hop (as one does at friday night parties by and for white folks, that’s just the way things are, i guess).
i can hear 40 or 50 white guys in khaki’s and denim shirts singing along to snoop dogg and eve.
ok, maybe i was being hyperbolic, it’s not something that’s great about new york. but it’s interesting.
people in new york do private things, but with the full understanding that they almost always have an audience.
which is interesting.
