i’m impressed that the democrats in the senate are pushing hard for including subsidies and tax-breaks for sustainable energy in the new energy bill.
this is one of many issues where the democrats win and the republicans lose(the others being: health care, military service of elected officials, education, the environment, foreign relations, etc…).
but this is a biggie.
the republicans need to be seen for what they are: the mouthpiece party for the oil industry.
and with oil at $58 a barrel it can only hurt the republicans to be seen as primarily representing the will of the people who run oil companies.
so kudos to the democrats for finally stepping up to the plate on this issue.
