hi.
grr. well, sort of.
some minor problems getting my journal thingies posted on the weekends.
no big deal, really. but i’m an impatient journaliner.
journaler.
etc.
saturday. went to a wedding in connecticut. saw lots of old friends and family members and played ‘sweet child o mine’ and ‘freebird’ and some old punk rock songs with the wedding band (‘the happiest guys in the world’).
it was a really lovely reception, and connecticut is very pretty in the summer.
‘pretty’. i could do better with the adjectives. ‘pretty’…ah well.
then we drove to brooklyn to go to a rooftop party for guster. and then i found myself at 6 a.m trying to get a taxi back to manhattan.
just a minor urban complaint.
brooklyn’s lovely (me again with the inspired adjectives…), but getting home from brooklyn is always problematic.
yes, the subways are reliable, but finding subway stops is difficult for provincial manhattanites such as myself. and car services…’oh yes, be right there, car number 47, be there in 90 minutes…’
and you can always walk if you’re near one of the bridges.
ok, enough with my exceptionally minor urban complaints.
i made it home, even if it took a very long time.
and now it’s 7:30 a.m. yes. time for bed.
i love new york in the summertime. it’s warm. always warm.
i’m simple. i like simple things. and new york in the summer is simple cos it’s warm warm warm. standing on a rooftop at 4 in the morning wearing a t-shirt and not being in any way cold or chilly is a simple but wonderful thing.
