Journal / the aristocrats

i finally went to see ‘the aristocrats’.
it’s a fascinating documentary, but i actually didn’t find it to be all that funny.
some of the comedians were fantastic(my favorite telling
of the joke being the south park version), and most of the comedians were ok, but some were deeply un-funny.
maybe it was just the context, but i at times marvelled that some of the comedians in the movie actually have been able to have careers as entertainers.
oh, fred willard is great, too. just having fred willard show up in a movie pretty much ensures that i’m going to love it.
and larry storch was quite good.
and the guy in the end with the baby(not andy richter was also pretty funny.
and bob saget. that came as a surprise. his telling of the joke was probably the best non-animated version.
who knew that he was so deeply and enthusiastically dirty?
and it’s pouring rain in new york. again. which is nice.
again, i think it’s nice to have rain that pummels you as opposed to gentle rain that just kind of annoys you while making you damp.
