why do i think that if g.w had lost the election he probably wouldn’t have been tempted into the world of academia?
i have this vision of g.w losing the election and going into the deep recesses of texas and shooting birds and weasels and pouring out their blood to satan, his obvious master….
in any case, i’m proud as a new yorker to be able to welcome both al gore and bill clinton into our manhattanite fold. it may be an overpriced island in terms of real-estate and cocktails, but it’s still a fine place to live.
so a big welcome to al gore and bill clinton from the friendly island of manhattan, the most politically liberal little island in the world (our present mayor excepted, of course).
