Journal / Strange Things

september 12th here in osaka.
sun is shining. people are buying louis vuitton handbags. life goes on as normal.
i wanted to share some very profound aphorisms (and no, an aphorism is not a little bug that eats plants in a garden. that’s an aphid. and aphidsmake milk when herded by ants. it is a strange phenomenon. i’m not making it up. ants corrall the little aphids and press on their abdomens to milk them. you should look into it.) with you.

these were forwarded to me by a very smart woman, thus ensuring their profundity.

9. i wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
10. honk if you love peace and quiet.
13. nothing is fool-proof to a talented fool.
17. eagles may soar, but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines.
22. if barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

and now it’s morning on the 13th. friday the 13th. and apparently the new york lottery winning number on 9/11 was 9-1-1, unless it’s just urban myth.
if it’s not urban myth then that’s pretty cool.
there are many things that i’ve never done. i’ve never heard a dave matthews band song. i’ve never eaten an omelette (even in my pre-vegan days omelettes intimidated me). i’ve never seen a tv show starring david hasselhoff.
oh, wait, did dave matthews have a song called ‘crash’? i think that i have heard a dave matthews band song. he’s a very nice man and i’m sure that he makes nice music. it’s only my ignorance that prevents me from knowing such things.
i love green tea. but i drank so much green tea yesterday that i had green tea induced insomnia last night.
and now i’m going to go walk around osaka and look at strange things, as made stranger by insomnia, of course.
