some people have been asking for details about the next album.
well, this is an announcement to announce that next week there will be an announcement with all of the details about the next album. that sounds like 1984 doublespeak, doesn’t it?
speaking of 1984, what happens when previously futuristic sounding dates become quaint and old-timey? like 1984 and 2001? was 2001 made in 1969? at that point 2001 must have seemed like an unimaginably vague futuristic date, whereas now it seems like an increasingly shadowy date from the past. maybe arthur c. clarke could change the title to 3001? is arthur c. clarke still alive? does he live in sri lanka?
but i digress. next week, probably wednesday or thursday, i’ll have an email wherein i announce all of the details about the next record, as in: what’s it called? when will it be released exactly? who’s made the first video? why do i still call them ‘records’? why do ‘flammable’ and ‘inflammable’ mean the same thing?
isn’t ‘george w. bush memorial library’ kind of oxymoronic? will they have ‘my pet goat’ in aforementioned library? and so on. the important questions.
