Journal / some exciting news

here’s some exciting news:
due to my jet lag now that i’m back in the nyc i’m going to sleep at 7 a.m and waking up at 2 or 3 pm.
one could argue that this is a true rock star schedule.
one could also argue that my bodyclock is broken.
one could also argue that i spend far too much time writing about my sleeping issues.
one could also argue that i spend far too much time having sleeping issues(well, issues about sleeping that is).
let me share something with you.
i have a recurring fantasy.
it’s a fantasy about being in one time-zone for an extended period of time.
it’s a fantasy about being able to answer the friendly ‘how are you?’ question with a reply other than ‘oh, pretty tired’.
some of us(aka-not me)are good at adapting to new time zones.
some of us(aka-me)believe that human beings really were not designed to travel across the world and fall asleep at times to which they’re not accustomed.
but then again one could argue that there’s not much that fills our modern, little lives for which our billions of years of evolution(yes, i believe in evolution. i guess that would make me a pariah in the ass-backwards red states, huh)have prepared us.
but normally we do ok.
just not when the modern world intrudes like a sledgehammer.
like with jet lag.
but guess what? august i’m in nyc. then september south america.
then october back in nyc.
so that’s three months in roughly the same time zone(s).
it might not seem like much to you, but to me it seems like a gift.
ok, it’s 5 a.m. that means it’s time to go and do something productive.
