a bipartisan bill that provides health care to poor and middle class children.
president bush and the far right maintain that:
a-it costs too much(the new bill costs as much as 29 days of keeping our troops in iraq)
b-it is a step towards socialized medicine(even prominent republicans like orin hatch have said that this is utter, and misleading, nonsense)
c-it is unfair taxation on tobacco companies(this doesn’t even warrant a response…)
it’s an incredibly popular bill, with overwhelming bi-partisan support in the senate and in statehouses.
president bush has just further doomed the republicans to being a permanent minority party.
his own moderate republicans are condemning him and swearing that they’re going to overturn his veto.
simply, gw bush is a stubborn idiot and he’s destroying his own party.
i mean, really, what sort of political idiot vetoes a bill that extends health care to poor and middle class children?
and what sort of political idiot vetoes a bill that extends health care to poor and middle class children, and that also has the support of his own party?
spending a trillion dollars on a war that should never have been started is acceptable to right wing republicans, but spending $35 billion on childrens health care is offensive to them?
they’re either:
a-evil
b-developmentally disabled
or
c-insane.
