yes, the song ‘sleep alone’ originally had the lyrics:
‘at least we died together,
holding hands,
flying through the sky’
but, honestly, for personal reasons i couldn’t include those lyrics on the ’18’ cd.
but time has passed, and i feel more comfortable singing them live.
cos those are the real lyrics.
and yes, it made me cry when i heard the original lyrics and thought of people jumping hand in hand from the world trade center.
it still makes me cry.
