in germany.
again.
looking at the dom. in koln.
the big, imposing dom.
everytime that i see the dom i try to imagine what people in the middle ages must have thought of it. it’s impressive in the 21st century. but in medieval times it must’ve seemed like the biggest, most intimidating thing in the universe.
and i enjoyed my week at home. being home was nice. the 8 days that i just spent in manhattan was the longest chunk of time that i’d spent in nyc in the last 4 months.
and it was nice (i said that already, i know).
there are a lot of remarkable things about living in manhattan, but one of the nicest is the fact that everything’s relatively close by, and usually within walking distance.
i sound like i should be writing for the nyc tourist board.
but it’s true. being able to walk from home to restaurant to bar to friends homes to clubs to etc is just so civilized. no parking. no gas stations. no car insurance. no dui’s. i miss that when i travel. to get around most cities you need to have a car. whereas to have a car in manhattan would be a huge inconvenience.
ok, that’s all for now. time to go and watch some bad german pop music on tv.
