for what it’s worth, here are my simple suggestions on how to protect america terrorism:
1-force israel and palestine to come up with a sound and viable palestinian state/homeland.
2-stop propping up corrupt regimes throughout the islamic world.
3-hire a good p.r company to let the islamic world know that the last 5 wars that the u.s have been involved in have ‘ostensibly’ been waged to benefit muslims (the liberation of kuwait, interventions in yugoslavia, the war in afghanistan, the current war in iraq).
4-publicly apologize for past disastrous u.s foreign policy in the arab world (supporting saddam hussein, supporting the shah of iran, supporting the taliban, etc).
5-spend humanitarian money benefiting the poor and the needy in the islamic world.
6-continue to protect america and american interests from terrorist groups.
7-decrease american reliance upon oil by promoting energy conservation and the development of alternative energy-sources.
there. my simple and naive suggestions on how to protect america from terrorism. because let’s face it, diplomacy with bombs doesn’t seem to be working too well.
and i’m sure that the 200 billion dollars being spent to wage war in iraq could be spent in better ways, no?
funding: schools, local police, firefighters, state and national parks, arts and music programs, envirnomental initiatives, etc, etc?
