serious update, now.
the proposed ‘anti-missile shield’ is so absurd and flawed as to be preposterous. and here’s why…suppose you’re an insane dictator with some really nasty nuclear or biological weapons. you really hate the u.s and it’s allies. and you see that the u.s and it’s allies have just spent 500 billion dollars on a sketchy missile defense shield. so, obviously, you’re not going to try to attack the u.s or it’s allies with a missile. so you just use one of the other hundred means available to you to deliver weapons to an enemy. like, say, a boat. or a tourist. or an airplane. or a helicopter. or etc. why are we going to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to build something that probably won’t work and will certainly not make us any safer? ugh.
dictators may be crazy, but they’re usually not stupid. aand some crazy dictator could easily see that some nasty nuclear weapons detonated on a boat next to a coastal city could easily do as much damage as the same nuclear weapons delivered via a ballistic missile.
so, i ask again, why are we considering a 500 billion dollar expenditure on something that most likely won’t work and that won’t protect us even if it did?
again, ugh.
