i’m about to be redundant.
see, i just went record shopping and bought $100 worth of old soul ballad cd’s.
why do i love sad soul ballads so much?
they just kick my ass over and over again.
and i love them for it.
‘love tko’ teddy pendergrass
‘it sho ain’t me’ by ike and tina
‘if lovin you is wrong (i don’t wanna beright)’ luther ingramm
‘if you don’t know me by now’ harold melvin
even new stuff like brian mcknights ‘anytime’
oh, now there’s atlantic starr on the cd player.
this i don’t like very much.
not bad. but not sad.
and i want sad romantic soul ballads.
maybe the manhattans ‘kiss and say goodbye’
yup, that’ll do me wonderfully.
i’m not even depressed or melancholy, but boy do i love sad romantic soul music.
ok, back to self-involved sappyland.
