did you know that they’re having hearings in kansas to determine whether or not evolution can be taught in schools?
sad, but true.
i’ll keep this brief, but it begs the question:
would christ be more offended by evolutionary theory or poverty?
would christ be more offended by evolutionary theory or 225,000 dead iraqii’s?
where in the new testament does christ say, ‘ignore the poor, but wage absurd legislative battles against proven scientific fact?’
does the religious right have a new testament wherein it says, ‘lo, those who objectively investigate the natural world shall be run out of town along with witches and j.k rowling.’?
the religious right in america are obsessed with homosexuality, abortion, prayer in schools, and evolution.
where in the new testament, i ask again, did christ mention any of these things?
as ostensible christians, shouldn’t the religious right be more concerned with ministering to the poor and going about their lives in a spirit of forgiveness, compassion, love, and non-judgementalism?
i mean, call me crazy, but it does seem as if people who call themselves christians might do better to live lives based on what christ actually said as opposed to getting all worked up over stuff that christ never even mentioned.
