Journal / Rock The Vote

last spring i played a couple of songs with ‘camp freddy’ in l.a.
‘camp freddy’ is a very satisfying cover band, comprised of a bunch of people who, like myself, have always kind of fetishized the idea of playing cover songs.
‘camp freddy’ will be playing a ‘rock the vote’ event this saturday at roseland, here in nyc, and i will be playing guitar on one or two songs (hopefully one of those songs will be ‘whole lotta love’, cos it’s my favorite song to play guitar on. is that a dangling participle? ‘to play guitar on’?).
other guests will be:
the cult’s billy morrison, donovan leitch, scott ford, matt sorum of guns ‘n’ roses, dave navarro of jane’s addiction, slash & duff mckagen (guns nã• roses), brett scallions (fuel), dee snyder (twisted sister), gavin rossdale (bush), and russel ‘sing-a-long’ steinberg (aka-johnny fayva, who just happens to be my favorite new jersey lounge performer).
i believe that you can even buy tickets for this event. the actual details are:

rock the vote after hours with camp freddy saturday, february 22, 2003 – 11:59pm at roseland in manhattan, nyc.
when ‘camp freddy’ performed in l.a last spring we had some very strange musical pairings, my favorite being robbie williams singing ‘fat bottomed girls’ with slash on guitar.
it was rock.
