Journal / Reminiscence

ok, another music reminiscince.
or is it ‘reminiscence’?
probably the latter.
did i ever talk about my show at the arapaho in paris after ‘animal rights’ was released?
or maybe it was right before ‘animal rights’ was released.
in any case, it was around that time.
and we(scott, ali, bubba, and myself)played a punk rock show at the arapaho.
with breakdancing(from yours truly, the little idiot).
and the audience(maybe…60 people? 70?)were not too terribly enthusiastic.
most of them had shown up expecting a more dance electronic oriented show, and it’s safe to say that a healthy percentage of the 60 people in attendance left before the show was over.
ah, the good old ‘animal rights’ touring days…
it’s funny, cos ‘animal rights’ is still, in my strange opinion, the best record i’ve ever made. and of all my records it’s the one that i most often listen to.
i don’t expect other people to like it very much, but i love it.
i especially like the slower songs, like ‘soft’ and ‘face it’ and ‘say it’s all mine’, although ‘someone to love’ has a nice, ‘peel the paint off of the walls’ quality to it that i appreciate.
so that was the arapaho ‘animal rights’ show. playing punk rock for 60 disinterested people.
ah well, i still enjoyed it.
thanks,
moby
