sunday morning:
hi.
does anyone else think that ‘common people’ by pulp is one of the most remarkable songs ever recorded?
my favourite songs today are:
‘common people’ by pulp
‘the mercy seat’ by nick cave & the bad seeds
and everthing off of ‘mezzanine’ by massive attack.
oh, ‘son of a preacher man’ by bobby gentry
and, oh, ‘rainy night in georgia’ by brooke benton
but ‘common people’ is just so remarkable.
good old jarvis and pulp.
it made me sad, cos they just approached me to do a remix for them and i had to say no cos i’m only allowing myself to work on my next album…but it’s kind of sad cos i really do like pulp.
especially ‘common people’. i’ll go listen to it again now.
and you know what’s another really great album?
‘the passengers’ by u2 & brian eno & etc. i don’t know if anyone’s aware of this album. it’s very nice.
but now it’s time to listen to ‘common people’ again.
