Journal / Ready?

ok, this promises to be a completely cliched and redundant journal entry.
ready?
i’m sitting here with the sound of rain on my skylights and i’m listening to some of the music that i’ve been working on and on some primal, vestigal level the sound of rain when heard from a warm, dry place is really comforting.
do you know what’s amazing? the empire state building.
when seen from up close, or up close and from the high floor of another building, it’s specacular. and huge.
which kind of goes without saying, but it’s just so solid-looking.
and i’ve just found out that the lights don’t get turned off at night on the esb. but i thought that they did.
but apparently they don’t. so i was wrong.
it takes a big (or in my case, little) man to admit that he’s wrong so often.
well, it would take a particularly obstinate or dimwitted man to not admit that he’s wrong when confronted with overwhelming evidence that he’s in fact wrong (like the empire state building lights staying on all night).

so, another journal entry about skylights and weather and music and buildings.
and i saw rene risque saturday night. and as i’ve said often (and for good reason) they were great. at sin e. the new sin e. not the old sin e on st. marks. that closed years ago.
i’m always the last to know.
