ok, here’s a sort of professional update.
a-richard kelly’s new movie(for which i did the music)is, i believe, debuting
at cannes either next week or the week after. it’s called ‘southland tales’, and it’s very different from ‘donnie darko’ and it’s very, very interesting. i’m not sure when it will be released, but i urge you to see it when you can. i really like it.
b-the shows that jonathan ames and i are doing at ars nova on may 30th are going to be taped for a tv show that we’re developing. so if you’re coming to the show(s)you should try to look pretty for the tv.
and, wait, is that it?
i guess so.
in the meantime i’m just holed up in my studio writing music and writing music
and then occasionally taking a break to write some music.
and to watch tv.
i…i…i got tivo.
i know. i finally succumbed(or succame. wait, that looks like a new type of artificial sweetener). or gave in.
that’s it, gave in. now i watch the daily show and the simpsons every day
and i’m a happier person and although it sounds sad my life has been improved
by the television.
yes, that sounds sad.
it’s not.
last nights family guy(s)(there were 2 of them)was/were great.
they always are.
tonight it’s my friend damian’s birthday(send him a happy birthday email if you know him).
my birthday present to him is a portable crystal meth lab.
no, it’s not.
that’s just me trying to be funny in a popular, ironic, contemporary way.
nothing says comedy like ‘portable crystal meth lab’, huh.
in other news: i’m looking forward to reading the letter that the president of iran has sent to our commander inept chief.
i read some excerpts and it sounded disconcertingly common-sensical(well, insofar as common sense can come from someone who doesn’t believe that the holocaust happened and that israel should be removed from the middle east).
eh, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
