washington (reuters) – president bush strongly backed donald rumsfeld on monday and said the nation owed him a debt of gratitude.
“”you’re doing a superb job, and our nation owes you a debt of gratitude,”” bush said.
ok, ask yourself:
do we owe rumsfeld a debt of gratitude because he lied to congress in the lead up to the war?
or perhaps because he withheld information from congress about the torture of prisoners?
or maybe because he sent american troops to iraq without a clear mission and without the proper training and without the proper equipment?
or maybe we owe him a debt of gratitude for starting a needless war that has cost $100 billion dollars and thousands of lives?
or perhaps we owe him a debt of gratitude for being a pompous ass who has alienated our allies with his arrogance?
is bush serious?
saying that america owes rumsfeld a debt of gratitude is like saying to a pensioner who has lost all of his/her savings from the enron scandal that they owe the board of enron a debt of gratitude.
ugh.
our president is insane.
