years ago i remember playing a show that was over 45 minutes long and being kind of amazed that i had played a show that was over 45 minutes long.
see, in the early days of the rave scene most sets were around 30 minutes or so.
and then i started doing my own tours and the show, with encore, would be around 1 hour.
now we routinely play for 2 or more hours every night.
i have to say that i much prefer these longer shows.
my goal is to someday get the show to the point where we’re playing for 3 hours a night.
that would be fun.
the most enjoyable thing about touring is actually standing on-stage and playing music, so of course i find these longer shows to be more fun than the much shorter shows.
i’ve used the word ‘fun’ twice in this journal entry.
‘fun’ is a simple word, perhaps i should search further afield for words that more specifically describe my feelings about playing long shows.
eh, ‘fun’ will do.
time to drive to birmingham.
