she sent me a copy of playboy from 1975 that’s printed in braille.
yes, no photos, just braille.
playboy for the blind.
i wonder if playboy had a big following among blind people in the 70’s?
somehow i’m guessing that playboy in braille was never the big hit that they might have been hoping for.
nonetheless i’m glad to have a copy of playboy in braille.
personally i think it’s fantastic that so many books and magazines and signs are in braille, but you have to admit that playboy in braille does seem like kind of a stretch.
where does the word ‘braille’ come from?
it reminds me of a strip club in toronto called the ‘brass rail’. i walked by said strip club and the ‘b’ and the ‘r’ were obscured, thus turning it into the ‘ass rail’, which somehow seemed appropriate.
