i just got back from peta’s fashion week award show.
i received an award, along with al sharpton and martha stewart and nellie mckay.
i feel proud and humbled to be able, in my dilletantish way, to work with organizations like peta and peta2 and hsus and other animal advocacy organizations.
and i don’t want to sound like a cliche, but it’s the people who work day-in and day-out on animal issues, especially the undercover workers, who deserve the awards and the credit.
so if i am given an award for whatever animal advocacy work i do, i feel as if i’m accepting it for the tens of thousands of animal rights workers who will probably never receive an award but who do the lion’s share of the work.
we all need to do everything that we can to draw attention to animal suffering so that one day it might end.
