i recently made the mistake of watching george w. bush speak on television…
oh boy, nothing personal against the man, but as a public speaker he inspires no confidence whatsoever. can’t they just prop him up for state functions and let colin powell do all of the public speaking for the white house? even donald rumsfeld is a better public speaker than bush. and, dare i say it, even dick cheney is a better public speaker than bush. no, hold on, i’m going too far.
dick cheney and bush are equally bad at public speaking, but in uniquely and distinctly awful ways. when bush speaks he seems like a belligerent drunk in a bar at 3 in the afternoon. as if he wants us to like him but he has nothing but contempt for us. and when he smiles you can really see the contempt in his eyes cos he has that thin little howdy doody smile but his eyes stay cold and mean.
ok, mental note to self: don’t watch bush speak in public. there. it’s done.
i can be an ostrich for the next 2 1/2 years.
