ok, a political aside…
the democrats are trying to come up with language that will somehow be more palatable to pro-life voters.
this is tricky, but my suggestion, that i might’ve made before, is to skew the whole debate away from abortion and towards medical freedom.
make the debate broader, drawing attention to right-wing calls for women to be legally bound to notify their husbands(and, even more onerously, to get their approval)if they want to get certain medical procedures.
there’s a significant percentage of women in this country who are not pro-choice.
there’s a much less significant percentage of women in this country who wouldn’t be offended by a right wing-candidate who tried to restrict women’s medical autonomy.
possible advertisements:
a picture of a woman, with the tag-line: ‘if you don’t need my permission to get medical treatment, why should i need yours?’ and then go on to say how right-wing justice alito voted in favor of a law that would require women to get their husbands permission for certain medical practices.
just some thoughts.
