don’t you think it’s odd(and, well, maybe even broadly encouraging)that the republican president praised the virtues of the qur’an in his inauguration speech and said during the debates that he is in favor of civil unions between same sex couples?
can you imagine earlier republican presidents doing this?
i’m not a fan of gw(which might come as a surprise…), but it does say a lot about our society that even a republican can praise the qur’an and praise same sex civil unions and not be run out of town.
america has become opposite land:
the most successful golfer is black.
the most successful rapper is white.
a republican president quotes the qur’an and supports gay civil unions.
our last democrat president enacted welfare reform and cut taxes.
hamburgers eat people and the nation of rand-mcnally thrives in the southern hemisphere.
and so on.
