Journal / Nice Thanksgiving

ok,
i would tell you about my thanksgiving but then you would think that i’m even more of a lefty pinko than you already do.
suffice it to say that it was vegan and i did all of the cooking and the tv stayed off and while the men were clearing the table the women sat around drinking wine and arguing about politics.
and i’m sure that some neo-con rightwing loonie (no offense to the canadia currency of the same name) is going to point to this as an example of my pinko lefty ways. eh, so be it.
and george bush went to iraq to have thanksgiving with the troops. and i guess i don’t need to say that up until a couple of weeks ago he hadn’t visited or contacted any of the families of soldiers who had been killed in the iraqi war.
so his going to iraq for thanksgiving was shameless politicking, and had nothing to do with a genuine concern for the troops (for if bush were concerned for the troops don’t you think he would’ve visited them or their family members at some point in the last 6 months?).
bush visiting the troops in iraq for thanksgiving is kind of like an abusive husband visiting his wife in the hospital after beating her up.
and in other news, i finally went to dia:beacon yesterday.
it opened last spring, and it’s the largest modern art museum in the world. and it’s pretty impressive. some of the art is instantly forgettable, but some of it, like the richard serra instalation, is really amazing.
louise bourgeois’ spider is pretty cool, too.
so there you go: pinko thanksgiving, george bushes shameless politicking, and giant metal installation art at dia:beacon.
i hope you all had a nice thanksgiving.
