Journal / New York In September

good morning.
september in new york is amazing.
the skies are blue and the air is warm but the mornings are cool and you can just begin to smell the changing of the seasons and suddenly people are coming back from summer vacations and there are 400 things to do every night(i went to a screening of ‘thx-1138’ with george lucas and francis ford coppola and martin scorsese last week, that was cool. yes, i’m a name dropper)and even though it’s warm people are gathering nuts and shredding newspaper for their little winter dens and everyone’s dusting off their sweaters and looking at summer as opposed to winter board games and apple cider starts to show up in the deli’s and then eventually the birds fly south and you see big, graceful v’s of canadian geese(which are now ‘fair game’ for hunting…ugh)flying to wherever it is they fly(mtv’s spring break?) but it’s still warm and you can have the best of both worlds and play in the sun during the day and sleep under thick blankets with the windows open at night.
ok, time to go to work.
