i was walking down the bowery recently and i heard the tell-tale booming bass from a tricked out suv, and of course i strained to hear which song was being played. so i look over and there are 4 homeboys bobbing their heads to jethro tull’s ‘aqualung’.
does this herald a new phase of prog-rock inspired hip-hop?
are mc’s going to start growing beards and wearing cod-pieces?
that ‘butterfly’ song had a little olde englishe vibe to it, the ‘come my lady, come come my lady’.one could almost envision the mc as some sort of arthurian troubador serenading his courtesan.
ok, i’ll shut up.
but prog-rock inspired hip hop would be really funny.
