Journal / my myspace page

in answer to some of your questions, yes i look at the comments and messages on my myspace page.
i also read the postings on the moby.com boards(well, when the boards are up. as they currently aren’t. but shall be soon. in theory).
i don’t get to reply to most of the messages on the boards or on the myspace messages section, though, but i do look at a lot of them.
and i was trolling around and looking at other musicians pages/sites and i was a bit surprised to see that most musicians aren’t actually involved in their home-pages or myspace page(s).
that’s odd.
that means that either:
a-i’m more involved than are some of my peers.
or
b-i should be doing rockstar things like crashing cars and dating reality tv stars and doing coke in the bathroom at the sky bar and not spending time on-line.
on saturday i’m going upstate to an animal sanctuary where, in theory, i’ll be able to play with pigs and cows that have been rescued from those happy places where they torture and kill pigs and cows.
have i mentioned that i’m a vegan…?
here’s my simple request…
in a perfect world animals would not suffer for human purposes. but we don’t live in a perfect world. in a perfect world we’d all be vegans. again, we don’t live in a perfect world.
i’m not going to be presumptuous and tell you that you should be a vegan or a vegetarian.
what i will ask is that you ask yourself the question:
‘could i look into an animals eyes and say: my hunger is more important than your suffering?’
let your conscience be your guide.
if you do choose to eat meat and/or dairy products could you at least consider eating compassionately farmed meat and/or dairy? cage-free and humanely farmed meat and/or dairy aren’t perfect, but they’re a lot better than supporting the factory farming system, and they’re better for you and for the environment.
thanks for listening,
moby
