ok, i have this idea…an idea about how to successfully send people to other far off planets, possibly even in other solar systems. the biggest problem facing the human exploration of space is that the other things in space are really far away. so for a human to travel outside of our solar system would, most likely, be unfeasable due to the time and resources that it would require.
so here’s a very strange idea that is un-doable now, but will be achievable within the next 50-100 years, or so i believe based on the scientific evolution of our species. to put it simply: instead of sending humans into space you could send dna into space that would, at some point, be re-constructed into the human from whence it was derived.
and upon being reconstructed the ‘new’ human could even, in theory, be ‘re-filled’ with the original humans thoughts and experiences. this might sound like a crackpot idea, but it will actually be achievable in the foreseeable future. that way the space ship wouldn’t have to support life during it’s voyage and the humans on board wouldn’t age, which are the two main problems, as i said, facing the human exploration of space.
i’m probably not the first person to have thought of this, but if by some strange fluke i happen to be the first person to have thought of this i definitely want to be one of the people to go. and maybe they can call the process ‘mobyfication’.
i’m such an egomaniac, huh.
