Journal / Moby & Nike Thread

i don’t get the chance to read everything that’s posted on the boards, but i did look at the ‘moby & nike’ thread, and it was really interesting. it was particularly nice because the people involved in the thread weren’t attacking each other, but rather they were involved in a seemingly healthy dialectic involving their opinions.
personally my opinion is somewhere in the middle. i’m a woosie. i like the middle of the road. i like the idea of corporate and individual autonomy and human and environmental rights. so maybe i’m schizophrenic, i dunno.
but it’s nice to see different sides of an argument presented without too much rancor and contention.
thanks
moby

p.s-my nike sweatshirt was purchased when i was very cold and it was the only thing available. i don’t know enough about nikes corporate practices to have a strong opinion. my only opinion is that the world is a very complicated place and that generalizations should be arrived at very, very cautiously and humbly.
if nike are corporate nazis then i’ll give my sweatshirt to the salvation army so that they can sell it to a homeless person for $1. and then that homeless person will probably be accosted by someone for supporting an ethically questionable corporation…ah, the world really is a complicated place, huh…
