maybe this will make it’s way onto my journal page…for some reason i’ve been sending in updates lately and they haven’t been posted.
i blame the, uh, rosicrucians. or freemasons.
i read a review of one of my shows wherein i was accused of ‘miming’?
that’s funny.
genuinely.
i’ve been playing guitar for 26 years. why would i ‘mime’ playing guitar? i honestly can’t see how someone could watch our show and say that we’remiming.
all the microphones?
drums?
instruments?
they’re all real and they’re all being played, which hitherto this point had seemed pretty obvious to me.
yes, if you hear a breakbeat or a sampled or backing vocal during my show you can assume that it’s coming from our trusty computers. good old trusty computers. they accompany us. i guess i should be offended that someone would think that i would ‘mime’ during my show, but it’s so ludicrous due to the fact that i’ve been playing guitar/bass/drums/keyboards/ etc for 26 years.
and one of the things that gives me so much pleasure on stage is playing music.
doesn’t that stand to reason?
ah well.
you can’t please everybody, i guess.
