tomorrow, tuesday(or, well, ‘today’ if you’re reading this ‘today’, with ‘today’ being ‘tuesday)is mid-term election day.
very simply: please vote.
ok, less simply: please, please, please vote.
i’m voting for the democrats in new york(hillary clinton, eliot spitzer, charlie rangel, etc), but they’re all ahead by, like, 110 percentage points, so it’s not a big deal that my vote might not be counted until next april or whenever they get around to it.
the republicans have, sadly, done nothing well or right during their 6 year tenure as america’s dominant party.
i hate to say it, but really, they’ve done nothing well or right.
even their good ideas(‘no child left behind’)were implemented in an underfunded and 1/2 assed and poorly planned way.
america works best when power is shared. see? i’m not a hard-core lefty, i believe in the legislative benefits of compromise and accomodation. when one party controls EVERYTHING it inevitably leads to corruption and rampant self-interest.
i’m not anti-republican, i’m just anti the current crop of lying, corrupt, inept republicans.
they deserve to be fired and held accountable for all of their lying, corruption, and ineptitude.
i’m not even 100% pro-democrat. i just think that the democrats would do a much better job than the current crop of republicans, and they’d be less beholden to the oil and defense industries who have been exclusively directing our foreign and energy policies.
so, again, simply: please vote.
thanks.
