Journal / Low Regard

grrr… must resist urge to write about politics…arggh…grrr…
i can’t fight it…
sorry.
so george w. bush is hell-bent on waging war against iraq.
when the u.s economy is falling apart.
when consumer confidence is at a 10 year low.
when his corporate backers are all being criticized or jailed.
when unemployment is rising.
when crime-rates are rising.
when all of our allies are laughing at us.
when the nsa, fbi, cia, and the bush administration are being criticized for their pre-9/11 roles.
when wto sanctions are being levied against the u.s.
and, coincidentally (?) when mid-term elections (that involve his brother in florida) are imminent. it’s just foul. sorry to be blunt, but history will look at gw bush as the man who lost an election and then sought to deflect criticism by threatening war on a country and a leader who ‘tried to get my daddy.’ (quote, gw bush). it’s all so dirty and distasteful. and the reason that people don’t see the conspiracy is for the same reason that they didn’t see the conspiracy behind his election. and that’s because the conspiracy is being enacted in the plain light of day while all of us are watching.
normally a conspiracy is hatched in back rooms and enacted surreptitiously (watergate, etc). these bush conspiracies just happen in the plain light of day with the u.s public and the media sitting by as complicit spectators.
yes, saddam hussein is a bad man. yes, iraq is a dangerous country.
but those facts were true 12 months ago. 36 months ago. 72 months ago. etc… the timing of this proposed ‘war on iraq’ is disgusting. it’s all about mid-term elections and oil and deflecting attention away from the fiascos that the bush administration has generated for itself.enron? the economy? the bush and cheney involvement with the saudis and the bin ladens? etc? let’s just start a war and watch while the a.d.d media forgets about all of the other stuff!it’s all so shameful. it makes perfect sense that the rest of the world holds this administration in such low regard.
