i’ve just witnessed one of the most amazing things…
we’re flying over nebraska and we’ve just passed over a huge lightning storm. so for the last 15 minutes i’ve been looking out of the window with a blanket over my head (to keep the cabin light out) and i’ve been watching this insane lightning storm (lightning flashes every 5 seconds or so) from above the clouds.
amazing. some of the lightning flashes seemed to stretch almost the entire length of the horizon. and it’s a moonless night, so i’ve had the clouds lighting up with lightning flashes below me and a sky full of stars overhead. i hope that at some point you find yourself in a plane with a lightning storm going on below you. it’s really something remarkable to behold.
the turbulence made the other passengers kind of nervous, but i put my trust in the kind people at boeing. i trust them to make sure that our little plane won’t be torn apart by some extreme nebraskan turbulence.
i’m so glad i was able to see that lightning storm. not to sound like a faux john muir, but i love being reminded of the grandeur of nature by witnessing something like this.
thanks,
moby
