Journal / John Kerry

“”george bush, who speaks of strength, has made america weaker,”” senator kerry said in seattle on tuesday night. “”weaker economically, weaker in education, weaker in health care. and the truth is that george bush has made america weaker by overextending the armed forces of the united states, overstraining our reserves, driving away our allies, and running the most arrogant, reckless, inept and ideological foreign policy in the modern history of our country.””

amen to that…

and don’t forget that when john kerry was lying wounded in a military hospital in vietnam that george bush was awol from his military service.
and that when john kerry was testifying before the senate as a 3 times decorated war hero that george bush was partying and doing cocaine with his buddies in new orleans.
and when john kerry was serving the united states as a senator george bush was working for an oil company.

given their relative experience and intelligence and integrity i honestly don’t see how anyone, be they right wing or left, conservative or liberal, could vote for george bush against john kerry.

Journal / John Kerry

as i said in an earlier update, i’m going to try to do my best to help get john kerry elected as president in november, 2004.
here are a few quotes from a speech that john kerry gave today that might better help you to understand why i’m so enthusiastic about him as a candidate:

(reuters) “”i reject george bush’s radical new vision … that turns its back on the very alliances we helped create and the very principles that have made our nation a model to the world for over two centuries,”” he said. “”george bush’s vision does not live up to the america i enlisted in the navy to defend.””

“”being flown to an aircraft carrier and saying ‘mission accomplished’ doesn’t end a war,”” kerry said. “”the swagger of a president saying ‘bring ’em on’ will never bring peace.””

on the domestic front, kerry said he would make the united states independent of middle east oil within the next decade, get back the 3 million jobs lost under bush and cut the federal budget deficit in half in four years.

Journal / John Kerry

after doing some research into the field of democratic presidential hopefuls i’ve decided to support john kerry for president.
in some ways it was a difficult decision, because i really do like howard dean, too. but john kerry seems like a good man with a good legislative record and he definitely seems to have the best chance of beating george bush, jr in november of 2004.

this might seem a bit premature on my part, but i do believe that we all need to start working now to do our best to remove george bush, jr from office at the next presidential election.
i, for one, look forward to a presidential debate between john kerry and george bush jr wherein john kerry asks george bush:
‘so george, what did you do during the vietnam war?’, as john kerry was decorated repeatedly for his service in vietnam and was wounded twice during while george bush, jr. had gone awol from the texas air national guards and was partying with frat boys in texas.
and after leaving the military john kerry then went on to lobby for an end to the vietnam war, even appearing before congress in 1972.
so i urge you to look at all of the democratic presidential hopefuls and support the candidate of your choosing.

and as i’ve said, i will be supporting john kerry.
thanks
